I would have to say that going into watching Panic Room I expected it to be really thrilling and exciting like Fight Club, but after watching the film I expected more from the director David Fincher. It kept me engaged somewhat but it I got a little bored. I think it’s because I had to watch this movie for class and I didn’t really feel like watching it. Well anyway I did like the way he use different shots that you don’t see a lot. There was this one I like a lot that went throughout the house. It was a crane shot that showed you the whole setting. I wondered if it was really all real or if some of it was digitally made. I thought it was really cool.
I would also like to add that I noticed that in this film it shows greed and in many of his other films he deals with other negative things in society. In Fight Club it deals with consumerism, in Seven it shows the seven deadly sins, and in Zodiac there is a serial killer. I think he has a hidden massage that he shows in his films. I think he’s trying to inform the audience of the bad parts of society. That could be a little farfetched but it’s what I was thinking about when I got bored watching Panic Room.
