Unforgiven
The other day we watched the movie Unforgivion which is a western. I thought the movie was very well made. It was not all gun fights and bar fights. Unlike most films it shows that it’s not easy to take someone’s life. In most films people kill people all the time with out even thinking twice. It’s a good change and I liked to see that. The movie was more authentic then most westerns and that’s why I liked it.

Well, I wouldn't say that Unforgivion was more authentic, as it was a revisionist western. But i agree with you in that it's different than many westerns of the same time period. Unforgivion was a western. A good well made western at that.
I agree with you that Unforgivin was very well made. However, I find it interesting that you think that the film portrayed killing as something that is a difficult act to commit considering the last scene in which William Munny seemed to have no problem killing everyone who stood in his way.
I will have to disagree with you on the fact that it's not easy to kill someone. Like Ben stated, William Munny pretty much took out the whole crowd in the bar in that last scene without a single problem, and throughout the film as well. I will agree with you on the fact that the film was very well developed.
Yes Unforgiven (not Unforgivion) was very well filmed and acted. (that is why it won 4 Academy Awards) We see who it is not easy for some of the people to take someone’s life: Ned could not finish the kill on the first cowboy and the Schofield Kid was mentally drained after he killed the second cowboy. On the other hand William Money might not seem like it was hard for him to take a life but he was drinking a lot before and that might be what he needs to do it. (he might not be able to do it/ handle it sober)
i agree that the difficulty in trying to kill another human is a fresh change of pace from most movies i have seen. that is what made unforgiven one of my favorite films. it shows that it is truly hard to kill another person and that there are consequences to your actions.
Ya i kind of hate to go off of what has already been said but it is true and they have a really good point. The last scene kind of kills the idea that it is hard to kill someone, like steve said he did it without any hesitaion. But i do agree that it was very well made and it is a very good movie.
I agree with everybody except Hunter that it was a very well made movie, but I think a big part of the movie was the fact that it showed that it was hard to kill people AND that it can be easy for some people. The film has some people for which it is extremely difficult to do so, like the biographer and the reformed Ned, and it also shows that it's easy for others, like Munny and the Sheriff. I think that's an important distinction to make about the movie. Good post overall Movieman
